Counseling Supervision Services

Supervising Associate Licensed Counselors in Alabama SINCE 2011

Are You Called To BE A Counselor?

During these challenging times, more and more people are reaching out to therapists for support and guidance. If you are working in an agency, school or other nonprofit and have thought of completing the licensure process, now might just be the time.

Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC) provide a source of hope, encouragement and guidance during very difficult times in clients' lives. They work in a variety of settings and serve all ages.

The Alabama Board of Examiners in Counseling is the regulatory body whose job is:

- To protect the public from incompetent, unethical and unlawful counseling practice.

- To enforce qualification standards for all levels of licensure.

- To delineate unlawful conduct through disciplinary procedures against practitioners who violate applicable laws and rules.

It is my goal to partner with supervisees (Associate Licensed Counselors/ ALCs) during the supervision process via weekly direct (face-to-face) and indirect (email/chat/text/homework) supervision sessions to help them grow.

Prospective ALCs should be actively employed and engaged in counseling with a full caseload in order to accrue the necessary 3,000 client contact hours within a reasonable timeframe..

My goal is to keep the process organized and simple. All ALCs will use an online, interactive log to document their hours, as well as have a drive to serve as a place to store documentation of the process (ALC Certificate, documentation to/from ABEC, continuing education certificates, etc.)

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, direct supervision sessions are held via videoconferencing. Regularly, sessions are held in the Birmingham-area (specifically in North Shelby County).
